New York Par Reno
New York by Reno
A Series of Original Lithographs, Signed and Numbered,
by Irene Reno, c.1935 This is a series of original lithographs by Irene Reno, entitled "New York Par Reno." Created in 1935 and printed by the renowned Gaston Dorfinant of Paris, the series is pencil-signed and numbered, edition #41 of a total of 110 sets. The collection consists of ten pieces: the original portfolio case, with series title and what may be image #3, The Woolworth Building, and nine matted, framed and signed prints, including the Table of Contents and eight images. Missing is image #1, "Manhattan", and possibly an additional printing of the portfolio cover image, "The Woolworth Building." There is obvious wear and tear to the portfolio; the framed images are intact. (There is some reflection on the glass.) The frames are in excellent to very good condition; most of the backings are intact but there are some tears. The glass seems to be in excellent condition, with no cracks. The set was a gift to the owner in the 1980's from a friend, astute collector, now deceased.
For anyone who loves New York and rejoices in the sights and sounds and smells of the City as it was in the Art Deco 1920's and 1930's, this is a collection to be treasured.
Price: $5000. The set may be picked up in New York City or shipped, with all expenses of packing, crating, shipping and insurance to be borne by the purchaser. Payment may be made by bank wire transfer or check; the artwork will be shipped upon receipt of cleared funds. Should the purchaser wish to return the collection, he or she bears responsibility for all shipping and is expected to return the collection in the same condition in which it was sold in order to be given a refund of purchase price. Seller reserves the right to deduct part or all of the refund in case of damage or other wear. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, or to arrange a viewing before purchasing.
